Immerse yourself in the glittering world of disco with the Disco, I’m Coming Out exhibition, a first-of-its-kind event at the Philharmonie de Paris celebrating the cultural, musical and political legacy of this iconic genre. From February 14 to August 17 2025, this immersive exhibition invites you to rediscover the energy and effervescence of the 1970s and 1980s.
Captivating scenography
The staging, designed by Studio GGSV and Studio Bloomer, recreates the atmosphere of legendary discotheques such as Studio 54. You’ll be transported as you wander freely between embossed carpets, vintage neon lights and glittering disco balls. Each room offers a unique ambience, from the origins of disco to its contemporary influence. Gufram designer armchairs add a chic retro touch to your experience.
A soundtrack to thrill you
The exhibition is punctuated by an exceptional soundtrack mixed by renowned DJ Dimitri from Paris. For an hour and a half, let yourself be carried away by a selection of cult and little-known tracks that recreate the magic of the dancefloor. Vintage mixes from the 1970-1980s are also available for a total immersion in the musical history of disco.
A cultural and militant tribute
Beyond the glitz, disco is presented as a revolutionary movement that brought together different minorities and social classes on the dance floor. The exhibition also explores the role of women, notably the “disco divas”, and the feminist and social struggles of the 1970s. Through costumes, audiovisual archives, photographs and design objects, discover how this music marked its era while remaining timeless.
